The Vineyard movement in Australia works through local Vineyard Churches, each of which operates as a separate organisation, as well as Vineyard Churches Australia (VCA), a separate organisation providing leadership and pastoral support to those Churches.
VCA works to promote a culture of care and responsibility for the welfare of all people (children, young people and adults) throughout itself and all the local Vineyard Churches.
Safeguarding involves an organisation developing policies and practices by which all its staff and volunteers are expected to conduct themselves, and practices which must be avoided. This includes the protection of those vulnerable or at risk, and responding swiftly, wisely and compassionately to allegations of abuse or any other concern. As part of our commitment to expressing Christ’s love, we must seek to ensure that all people are able to live and work in safe environments free from abuse or harm of any kind.
VCA and each local Vineyard Church has adopted Safeguarding policies and practices tailored to their activities.
VCA events
From time to time, VCA runs events in its role as the national organisation.
If for any reason you have a concern about any aspect of your experience at a VCA event, we would appreciate hearing from you as soon as possible so that we can address your concern. Please contact us using one of the following options:
Activities of local Vineyard Churches
To learn more about the Safeguarding policies and practices in place at a local Vineyard Church, VCA encourages you to visit their website or contact their church office.
Any concerns relating to a local Vineyard Church (including relating to their Pastors) should be directed in the first instance to the church concerned. Any concerns received by VCA about a local Vineyard Church will be referred to the Board of that church.
However, if you are not satisfied by the response of your local Vineyard Church and wish to bring the matter to the attention of VCA, please email safeguarding@vineyard.org.au
