Kirk & Nichole Delaney Recommit to Serve as National Directors of Vineyard Churches Australia
It is with great joy and gratitude that the VCA Board announces that Kirk and Nichole Delaney have accepted the invitation to continue serving Vineyard Churches Australia as National Directors for a further term.
A Careful and Prayerful Process
In late 2025, the VCA Board commenced a review and renewal process of Kirk and Nichole’s most recent term. As part of this process, Senior and Lead Pastors from local Vineyard churches were invited to contribute their reflections and experiences of Kirk and Nichole’s leadership — a generous and meaningful gift from our church family.
The Board then met with Kirk and Nichole in early 2026 to prayerfully work through those reflections together. Kirk and Nichole gave themselves to a sincere season of discernment, seeking the Lord’s will and clarity regarding His calling on their lives through this process. Following that time, the VCA Board formally asked them to give themselves to another term of servant leadership.
In addition, the Vineyard Global Leadership Team has expressed its wholehearted support for Kirk and Nichole’s re-appointment. During a recent gathering in Tavira, members of the Global Leadership Team spent time praying for Kirk and Nichole, affirming their leadership and seeking God’s blessing and guidance for the years ahead.
A Willing and Wholehearted Yes
Most recently, at the Senior Pastors Gathering in Melbourne, Kirk and Nichole announced that they have agreed together that the Lord is calling them to another term. This new term commences 1 June 2026 and is for a period of 5–7 years.
Those present — Senior Pastors and Church Planters from across the country — gathered around Kirk and Nichole to pray and prophesy the encouragement of the Lord over their willingness to continue leading our national family of churches. It was a beautiful and Spirit-filled moment.
In Kirk and Nichole’s own words:
“As we waited on the Lord, we reflected on 1 Peter 5:2 and have offered the Lord our ‘willingness’ as sincerely and wholeheartedly as we know how to. We also carry in our heart with the Holy Spirit, a vision that this next term will see the Lord continue to pour His Spirit upon His Australian Vineyard family of connected churches.”
Additional Support
During this season of discernment, the Lord spoke clearly, and the feedback received through the review process confirmed the importance of providing additional support for Kirk and Nichole as they continue in this national leadership role.
- A new Administrative Assistant has been employed through VCA to provide practical support for the increasing demands of national leadership.
- Kirk and Nichole have also engaged a professional leadership coach who will walk alongside them, offering encouragement, accountability, and support as they lead into this next season.
